The Healthy Diabetes Plate Curriculum

This curriculum, including four lesson plans and presentation slides on compact disc, helps teach individuals how to change what and how they eat. The approach used, the Idaho Plate Method, is a unique way to visually teach people who have diabetes about the types of foods they should consume.

Lesson 1
Introduces participants to the Idaho Plate Method.

Lesson 2
Offers information on the nutritional and health benefits of this approach.

Lesson 3
Includes a supermarket tour which teaches participants how to read food
labels and plan meals.

Provides recipes for every meal and offers suggestions for dining out.
