Reference Boise Prison's Magic Garden:
Thanks for the nice article. I'd like to recognize some of those that have made the program a success.

The planning and start of the first classes could not have occurred without a lot of work by Janine Falk, Idaho Corrections Dept. at SBWCC and Bonnie Bryant, the other Advanced Master Gardener who committed to the project. Susan Bell, Ada County, UI Extension Horticultural Educator, provided guidance and assistance and allowed us to use Master Gardener data.

Dr. Kevin Laughlin, (see Idaho Junior MG Program article) Ada County, UI Extension, and others from the office staff provided valuable assistance and support. Later Kevin even taught one of our classes (Landscaping) at SBWCC.

After the first classes a new group of Advanced Master Gardeners offered their assistance to Bonnie and myself. In 2004 and 2005 these AMGs have supported, nearly full time, the SBWCC classes: Elizabeth Dunn, Dr. Walter Kaiser and Shirley and Dr. John Hendricks, MD. They have proven to be special and dedicated people. All have been/are very popular with our students.

The Idaho Corrections Department personnel at SBWCC have continued to work hard to support and facilitate the classes. In 2005 we completed our first class (8 weeks) of 20 women on April 26 t . We have started another class of 20, on July 7th .
