You pick best cover photo
Picking a cover image for our main story each issue is a
big challenge. It must fit in the square shape. And it works best if it
immedietly tells you, our readers, what the main story is about.
Our art director Shane Jackson decided a child eating a baked potato or French fries would make a good cover. We invited several friends with young children to come to the photo studeo of Mark LaMoreaux in Moscow. Shane also ordered a couple dozen baked potatoes, trimmings, and a sturdy supply of French fries as photo props. Then our young friends gamely ate or played with potatoes while Mark shot digital images.
Here we share with you the final images our art director
chose from dozens of pictures taken. Please vote for your favorite
image.
And our special thanks to our young models and their families for helping us come up with our Summer 2008 potato cover!
