Idaho’s
Changing Demographics
Reports
from several U.S. agencies document a number of changes in Idaho’s
population since 1990.
UI author Priscilla
Salant’s Rural Idaho at a Glance uses those numbers to explore
key changes: Idaho’s population grew by 29 percent, to almost
1.3 million; people living in metro areas outnumber those in nonmetro
counties for the first time in our history. She also identifies
12 counties recognized nationally for recreation potential, some
of them already dramatically impacted.
Well illustrated, this
large tri-fold publication is for policy makers, people who live
in rural places, or who serve rural markets.
