Francine A. Ogden '69, '90, and '92, Mesa, ID. Fran was recognized as the Safe and Drug Free Schools Shining Star of Prevention. Idaho First Lady Patricia Kempthorne presented this Idaho Department of Education award to Fran.

Gary W. '73 and Judith R. '72 Wutzke, Clarkston, WA. Gary and Judith relocated to the Clarkston Valley to play more golf and be closer to family.

90s

Allison Touchstone '95 and '97, Kuna. Allison is the new president-elect for the Idaho Vocational Agriculture Teachers' Association. She will serve as president in 2005-06.

Jodi (Tharp) Miller '98 and '03, Boise. Jodi married Erik Miller '02 in June 2001. A beautiful son, Luke, was born in December 2002. Jodi works for CASI Foundation for Children as an adoption caseworker.

Brothers of the Century

Alpha Gamma Rho (AGR), a professional agricultural fraternity, celebrated its centennial this summer by giving Brothers of the Century awards to members recognized as the "best of the best," for their principles, values, and ideas within their career fields. They are recognized as role models for new generations.

Honored from the UI College of Agricultural and Life Sciences were former faculty/staff members Maynard A. Fosberg, soil science professor emeritus; LeRoy D. Luft, former Coopera-tive Extension director and associate vice provost for outreach; and Larry E. O'Keeffe, former head of the Department of Plant, Soil and Entomological Sciences.

Awards also went to these alumni: Thomas R. Gates '64, retired from careers with the U.S. Air Force and the State of Alaska; James Hartley '02, Spokane, a forestry consultant and Washing-ton Department of Natural Re-sources wildland firefighter; Jason Hough '99, Garfield, WA, a field crop consultant with Mc-Gregor Company; Doyle W. Jacklin '03, who received an honorary UI doctorate degree in 2003; and Kevin E. McPhee, '95, research geneticist with the USDA-Agricultural Research Ser-vice, in Pullman, WA, working on variety development and genetic improvement in dry pea, chickpea, and lentil crops.
